Lakehouse teams up with the Construction Youth Trust to take part in 'Capital Xperience', a summer programme, funded by the London Development Agency, that provides internships for east London students aged 16-18 in construction.
Lakehouse provided a short presentation to around 40 students, to explain the career opportunities for professional, technical and trade roles in the industry. Students were then interviewed and given feedback on their performance and tips on interview techniques. As a result Lakehouse offered students from Shooters Hill Post 16 Campus and St. Bonaventure's High School, Forest Gate, a four-week paid work placement during the summer.
Samson Adeyemi said "Working at Lakehouse has been a wonderful opportunity and I've gained valuable experience in all the areas I've been assigned. What I've enjoyed the most is the opportunity to design a residents' newsletter and undertake market research for a specific project."
Samson has so impressed staff at Lakehouse that he has been asked to return as a main speaker at the 'Construction Legacy - London Fair' to talk about his experience with Lakehouse later in the year.
