Lakehouse is continually developing its procurement process and is particularly keen to increase the diversity of its supply chain.
As part of our long term partnership with Newham Homes we have partnered with Newco Products, based in Stratford, East London. Newco designs and manufactures kitchens, windows, doors and joinery products and works alongside Lakehouse to maintain Newham Homes' housing stock.
Of its 90 staff over half have a disability or serious health condition which qualifies Newco as a 'Supported Business'. As a multi-disability organisation, its employees include those who are blind, deaf, have cerebral palsy, learning difficulties, epilepsy, diabetes, arthritis, motor neurone disease and mental health conditions. The workforce is fully inclusive at all levels, from shop floor to management.
Newco buys locally, uses local labour and reduces its carbon footprint by having materials moved as short a distance as possible.
