Lakehouse's Health and Safety Manager and other members of the team were out in the community again in November 2008, participating in the Camden Carousel schools event. Lakehouse is one of only two partners to be awarded the £413M Camden framework, 'Investing in Camden's Homes', and offered its support to enable pupils aged 14-15 years, from a number of Camden schools, to enjoy a series of learning activities.
International Safety Award winning Lakehouse provided a health and safety session during which pupils were given a brief presentation, followed by small workshops focusing on an interactive DVD which enabled pupils to manoeuvre their way through an educational 'game', establish their own character or 'friend' and then guide their friend through a course of events in a safe way, avoiding potential hazards.
Pupils thoroughly enjoyed creating their own characters, naming and clothing them and then competing to see who could achieve the highest score. The theme of the day, whilst centred around health and safety, was about learning from mistakes, resolving problems and acting responsibly.
