Construction Careers in Action - Greenwich Heritage Centre
Lakehouse supports the London Borough of Greenwich and Greenwich Education Business Partnership (GEBP) by participating in an annual two day construction careers event.
The event raises awareness of employment opportunities in the construction industry and provides an excellent opportunity for Lakehouse to engage with students, answer their questions on the training and qualifications required and encourage them to consider a career path in construction.
The 2008 event was held at the Heritage Centre, Woolwich, and Greenwich students aged 13 - 19 worked in small groups with the Lakehouse team to participate in a carpentry taster session and a game aimed at providing a basic understanding of structures, budgets and building on time.
