Corporate Responsibility in the Community
Lakehouse works in some of the most deprived communities in the UK, often in long term strategic partnerships with housing associations and local authorities. We believe we are in a unique position to bring positive change to those communities, beyond the physical fabric of the buildings we affect.
Through greater enagagement with local people we not only enhance the value of our business but the value of the communities we serve. Educating local people about the training and employment opportunities in construction attracts new talent into the industry and provides opportunities for local people.
Our CEO Steve Rawlings is personally involved in developing our corporate responsibility strategy. Having forged close relationships with homeless organisations including Thames Reach, Broadway, St Mungo’s and Chapter One, Steve has provided support including mentoring and business advice. In 2010 our staff donated more than 2,000 hours towards community projects, and over a third of them volunteered their own time.
