Lakehouse promotes health and wellbeing at Fun Day to support Russet Homes and the Beat Project

Members of Lakehouse's social housing team were out and about with company mascot, Lenny Lakehouse, on 23 August 2009 to show their support for Russet Homes and the Beat Project, a charity which promotes creativity and social awareness, largely in Kent communities. The charity aims to tackle inequality and social exclusion, improve standards of basic education and increase opportunities for all, particularly disadvantaged young people, through setting up and facilitating a wide range of initiatives based around music and creative arts.

The Family Fun Day kicked off at 11am at Trench and Longmead Sports Ground in Tonbridge and was attended by members of the local community, their friends and families. The fun activities and events included a bungee run, bouncy castle, face painting, community chef, dog chipping, manga art workshops, hog roast, tombola and dance performances.

Lakehouse's health and wellbeing stall provided visitors with fresh fruit juices free of charge and staff gave advice on good eating habits. Sarah Atkinson, one of Lakehouse's Resident Liaison Officers, volunteered her services as face painter and had children queuing up to take a turn for most of the day, which was a great success with many of the children walking away with free goodies and prizes.
