Leaders in Corporate Responsibility
Corporate Responsibility (CR) is part of Lakehouse’s DNA, and central to our values. As a support services provider we aim to minimise the negative impact of our activities and to act as a catalyst for positive change within the communities we serve.
Our CEO Steve Rawlings is personally involved in developing our CR strategy, and chairs our CR steering group to ensure that realistic but challenging targets are set, and goals achieved. Over the past two years we have made significant progress, receiving recognition through a number of awards including Construction News Quality Award for CSR, Building Magazine Award for Contractor of the Year, and a place in The Sunday Times Top 100 Companies to Work For list.
One of our proudest achievements is the launch of our social enterprise, Building Lives Training Academy CIC, located at Arlington House, a homeless hostel in Camden. This Housing Forum Demonstration Project provides construction training for people from deprived communities, and real opportunities of employment for successful candidates.
Winner of 'Diversity Champion of the Year' at Building Awards 2011, and winner of 'Contractor of the Year' at Building Awards 2010.
