Community Involvement
Students at Hitherfield Primary School explore their creative side

Lakehouse was delighted to be awarded the £1.2M project to build a new children's centre on the site of Hitherfield Primary School, in Streatham. Keen for students to get involved and feel part of the project team, Lakehouse introduced a number of fun-filled, art-based initiatives to capture the children's imagination and gain their involvement.

The creative activities included two art competitions, one focusing on the decoration of site hoardings and another on raising awareness of environmental issues. The winning entrants of the environmental competition have had their artwork professionally printed so that posters can be displayed at the school and across Lakehouse's offices and sites to support both parties in their strategies to reduce their impact on the environment.

A project focusing on the Olympic Games, presented pupils with the opportunity to design and build their own model Olympic Village. There was an overwhelming amount of interest and more than 100 entries; the top five entries were declared worthy winners and were very excited to receive their prizes.
