A group of students from Shooters Hill college who are working towards the Construction Diploma enjoyed their first ever visit to a construction site at Lakehouse construction project.
The supervised tour at the site of St. Mary Magdalene Church of England Primary School involved an introduction from Lakehouse Project Manager Anthony De Sousa, who is responsible for the successful management of the project and the programme, followed by an overview of health and safety, site operations and environmental aspects.
Pupils of St. Mary Magdalene Church of England Primary School have been relocated to Shooters Hill College whilst the new school is under construction.
The visit will be followed by a lecture from Lakehouse Sustainability Advisor Stephen Gray, and a final tour before the new school is handed over.
Anthony De Sousa said "I was delighted to show the students around the site, particularly since they were so enthusiastic about working in our industry. It's a bonus to be able to use the project as an educational tool."
Geoff Osbourne, Curriculum director at Shooters Hill College said "The site tour was invaluable for our students. We filmed the tour and will use the visit to help the students understand how the industry operates."
