Lakehouse supports Big Birthday Appeal for homeless

Members of Lakehouse's south west regional office joined Bournemouth Churches Housing Association (BCHA) for its Big Birthday Appeal Charity Golf Day on 30 June 2009. The event was held to celebrate 40 years of support for homeless, vulnerable people.

For the people that BCHA helps, the big 'four O' means help off the streets, out of abuse, over skills barriers and onto independence. The charity helps homeless, vulnerable and other people access the right housing, health, learning and work opportunities. Services include refuges for women, children and men fleeing domestic abuse, St. Paul's hostel and day centre for homeless people, and a Learning Services centre where people can regain the skills they need to prepare them for employment or their next step in making life meaningful for them.

Martin Hancock, Chief Executive of BCHA wrote after the event: "I am writing to thank Lakehouse for taking part in BCHA's Big Birthday Appeal. I am delighted to let you know that £2,726 was raised - a fantastic achievement and great news for the many homeless and vulnerable people we help. Thank you for your support."
