Richmond Housing Partnership's (RHP) hugely popular free community fun day attracted another great crowd to Twickenham on Sunday 19th July 2009. Around 3,500 people attended the annual Fun Day at Marble Hill Park, sponsored by Lakehouse for the third year running and thrown by RHP for all of Richmond's residents. The RHP Fun Day has turned into one of the borough's largest community events, growing bigger and better every year, with plenty of entertainment and rides to keep people of all ages active.
Urban Academy, a lifestyle social inclusion coaching programme for young people, held another successful football tournament for young people from around the borough. A hugely popular part of the day was the other Urban Academy section which included graffiti art, DJ lessons, break dancing lessons and boxercise. Other free activities throughout the day included a bungee trampoline and a climbing wall, and for the younger children there were face painting, jugglers, arts, crafts and bouncy castles. David Done, Chief Executive of RHP said "We really enjoy hosting the Fun Day. This year was another fantastic day for everyone involved with a really great community spirit. As the borough's largest social landlord we want to give something back to the whole community and the Fun Day has always proved an enjoyable day out for everyone of all ages."
