Lakehouse sponsors Eid party to springboard community cohesion in Tower Hamlets

A Lakehouse - sponsored party to celebrate Eid was well received by the local community at Tower Hamlet's Bethnal Green Methodist Church.

The event provided an opportunity for the local community to celebrate the end of Ramadan with a range of games and activities for children as well as giving parents a chance to mix and meet their neighbours.

Lakehouse is committed to increasing diversity within its own workforce, and the social gathering enabled Lakehouse's Shewar Iqbal to promote and encourage cultural awareness and community cohesion amongst residents whose homes it is working within locally.

The party is the second annual Eid for Muslims, a three day holiday that marks the end of Ramadan, the Islamic holy month of fasting. Chief Executive of Tower Hamlets Kevan Collins joined local families for the festivities, and shared some of the world foods that had been prepared by members of the community.
