Chief Rabbi Sir Jonathan Sacks opens Mathilda Marks-Kennedy School

Lakehouse was delighted to sponsor celebrations for the grand opening of Mathilda Marks-Kennedy Jewish Primary School, in Barnet. The special event marked the successful completion of Phase I of an ambitious design and build project for Lakehouse and was attended by guest of honour, Chief Rabbi Sir Jonathan Sacks.

The theme of the morning focused on the building work that the children had so closely followed and the new foundation stage building. Pupils started the celebration by performing a song for staff, family members, representatives from Barnet LEA, school governors and members of the community. The singing was followed by the Chief Rabbi's speech which included reference to the importance of investing in youth for the good of future generations, mirroring Lakehouse's social responsibility philosophy.

Special guest and company mascot, 'Lenny Lakehouse', wowed the children, aged 3-11 years, with an unexpected appearance, before prizes were awarded to the winners of an art competition, inspired by the new building.
