National Site Awards 2010 - Bronze Award for Thorn Grove Primary School

On 27th April 2010 Lakehouse was awarded a Bronze CCS Award for Thorn Grove Primary School, Bishop’s Stortford, Hertfordshire. Considerate Constructors Scheme Annual National Site Awards are only given to around the highest scoring 7½% of sites, which have completed in the previous year. The site was particularly commended for the high standards reached in the categories of Considerate, Environment, Cleanliness, Respectful, Safe, Responsible, and Accountable, and for its exceptional achievements in the category of Neighbour. Judges said that the site was a credit to Lakehouse and to the site team.

The small £150k project, which was procured through a Smarte East new build and refurbishment framework, comprised construction of an extension to the existing school to provide additional space for the school’s administration team. The four year framework was awarded to Lakehouse in December 2007 and is worth up to £30million per annum.

Some 580 winners were selected from over 7600 eligible sites. Awards are selected based on the points given by the Scheme’s Monitor, as verified against the national marking averages, and only after approval from the client. Other points taken into consideration include the manner in which any complaints have been handled by the site.
