Lakehouse appointed by Croydon Churches Housing Association
Lakehouse has been successfully appointed by Croydon Churches Housing Association (CCHA) to carry out the design and installation of solar PV panels on 145 sites within their housing stock.
Fifteen Sutton women sign up for free construction taster course
Lakehouse has partnered with its preferred training provider Building Lives, Sutton Housing Partnership and Merton Priory Homes, to provide a ‘women into construction’ course. Two open days were held in January 2012, and local women were encouraged to come along to find out more about the offering, and take part in a recruitment and selection process.
Family Mosaic unveils first show home at Colne Drive, Havering
Lakehouse’s first show home for a £2million Family Mosaic development in Colne Drive, Havering, was unveiled at the weekend, and the first applicants were allowed through the door to take a good look around.
National Apprenticeship Week Kings Cross Construction Centre
Providing training and employment opportunities is a great way for Lakehouse to demonstrate added value for clients and their communities. We gain loyal, hard working apprentices who are very grateful for what is often their first step on the career ladder, and in turn the apprentices enjoy paid work and training which enables them to achieve a nationally recognised qualification.
Southwark Regeneration Challenge at Thames Reach Academy, 8-9 February 2012
Pupils from St. Thomas of Apostle School and Charter School in Peckham came together for National Apprenticeship Week. Events included a visit to a Lakehouse site for a Thames Reach Academy on Peckham Road, as well as a regeneration challenge at the old Fire Station on Tooley Street.
Lakehouse Builds Bridges With Young People
As part of National Apprenticeship Week, Lakehouse has supported a group of 5 people aged 17-19 to construct a bridge in Leyton, East London. The event took place on 9 February at the National Construction College at Cathall Road. Overall there were 18 young people taking part in the construction challenge, with groups sponsored by different companies.
Lakehouse volunteers transform community hall in Hackney - February 2012
From 6 - 8 February Lakehouse and Hackney Homes celebrated National Apprenticeship Week 2012 by taking part in a community challenge to regenerate the Rose Lipman Community Hall on the De Beauvoir Estate in Hackney.
Winner of National Site Awards 2011 announced
The Considerate Constructors Scheme has announced the winners of its National Site Awards 2011, and Lakehouse is among the best of the best. Its projects at Purford Green School (a SMARTE EAST project), Barons Court School, and Rockcliffe School are due to receive an award at this year’s celebratory event.

Slough Borough Council has awarded Lakehouse a £3m internal modernisation programme.
Celebrating National Apprenticeship Week 6 - 10 February 2012
On 8 February eight students from Haverstock School, Camden, attended the local Building Lives Training Academy to participate in a taster day organised by Lakehouse, and run by Lakehouse-employed apprentices, who are undertaking construction training at the academy.

Building Lives CIC has been awarded the Social Enterprise Mark, which proves they are in business to help society and protect the environment.
