Lakehouse delivers first new homes for Gravesham Borough Council in 17 years

September marks the successful completion of a £625k development which has delivered five new council-owned and managed bungalows for Gravesham Borough Council. The high profile scheme is the first to be developed in the borough for 17 years.

Senior Appointments at Lakehouse

Colin Marshall has joined Lakehouse to head up its fast growing Development Division. Colin left Taylor Wimpey PLC to join Lakehouse in June this year. Lakehouse has recently delivered the first new homes for Greenwich Council in decades, and the first new homes for Gravesham Borough Council for 17 years. The company has also been working on development schemes with clients including Arhag Housing Association, East Thames Housing Group, and Family Mosaic.

Lakehouse wins Lord Mayor's Dragon Award

On 20 September 2011, at the annual Dragon Awards dinner, Lord Mayor of the City of London Michael Bear revealed that Lakehouse was an inspirational winner of the capital's most esteemed Community Engagement awards. Chief Executive Steve Rawlings was presented with the award for Economic Regeneration, in recognition of the support the company provides to local communities throughout the capital.

Innovative four storey St Mary Magdalene School opens in Woolwich

The brand new St Mary Magdalene Church of England Primary School building in Woolwich was officially opened by the Bishop of Southwark on 17 July. Funded under the DfE targeted capital and primary capital programme initiatives, the striking four storey building incorporates ‘playdecks’ to enable children to safely play and learn over several floors and replaces the Victorian primary school that originally occupied the site.

'Cost-neutral' redevelopment provides social housing and key worker homes in Chelsea

Lakehouse has recently completed a project to develop redundant space into a number of basement flats in Elm Park Gardens, Chelsea. The flats are located in one of the most sought after locations in London, a Victorian Square just off the Kings Road, and are the first additions to the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea's (RBKC) housing stock for some time. The development of thirteen units, made up of studio, one, two and three bedroom accommodation, has been completed to a good social housing standard. The flats are modern, well lit, and developed with the character of the original building in mind, including the incorporation of York Stone staircases.
