Fusnara Begum - the National Skills Academy (NSA) Project Skills Co-ordinator at Camden - is one of the top 3 NSA Co-ordinators in the country.
The NSA for Construction Project, "Investing in Camden's Homes", provides much needed on-site training and employee support, and helps ensure that building projects leave a legacy of skills for the future.
The role of Project Skills Co-ordinator is to ensure that agreed targets, including promoting the industry, recruitment of new talent, and the qualifying of existing workforce, are achieved.
Gary Hewison, Performance Co-ordinator for the NSA for Construction, said, "Now in their second year, Fusnara has helped 'Investing in Camden's Homes' to exceed in many target areas, and enabled operatives' access to training opportunities, National Vocational Qualifications (NVQs) and, with the support of the supply chain, has created new apprenticeships for young people.
"At present, 'Investing in Camden's Homes' is recording substantially high levels of achievement against critical targets and outcomes and, nationally, is one of our top three highest performers against key performance indicators. With business and government in partnership, we can raise skills levels across the economy, sector by sector, ensuring we can compete effectively in a rapidly changing global economy."
