Lakehouse has today announced that it has acquired K&T Heating Services, which provides gas maintenance and compliance services to the local government and social housing sectors in London and the south east of England. K&T was established in 1988 and has grown consistently since that time, and today employs over 140 full time staff.
The exciting development comes at a time when many businesses are struggling to stay afloat. This first acquisition will see Lakehouse widen its service offering to existing and potential new clients, through the provision of in-house gas compliance and maintenance services.
K&T currently provides services to over 43,000 homes throughout London and the south east. The company’s clients include those listed, many of which are shared by Lakehouse:
- East End Homes
- East Thames Housing Association
- London Borough of Greenwich
- Peabody Trust
- Poplar Harca Housing Association
- Tower Hamlets Community Housing Trust
- Wandle Housing Association
In the financial year to July 2011, K&T generated profits before tax of £1.5 million on revenues of £9.4 million. Both business owners, James Day and David Greenfield, together with the entire management team, will remain with K&T as part of the enlarged Lakehouse group.
James Day and David Greenfield said:
“We are delighted with today’s announcement and looking forward to growing our business and servicing our clients, with the support of Lakehouse.”
Stuart Black, Chairman of Lakehouse, said:
“I am thrilled that we have secured K&T; a fantastic business, with exceptional management team and staff. Their service offering compliments the Lakehouse offering, and we share a number of key clients, so I am confident that together we will benefit from continued growth and development.”
