Lakehouse a front runner in 'Retrofit for the Future' competition
As part of the Government's drive to cut carbon emissions in social housing, the Technology Strategy Board has launched a £10M competition 'Retrofit for the Future'. The competition is strictly for houses drawn from social housing stock and Lakehouse has partnered with the London Borough of Newham, London Borough of Camden and East Thames Group to develop three separate proposals. We are delighted to announce that all three applications have been successful and the Technology Strategy Board has provided funding for the feasibility/design stage.

Lakehouse backs Youth and Active Citizenship Event
Live performances, non-contact boxing, workshops in hairdressing, body massage, reflexology and a football tournament were just some of the attractions on the menu at an exciting Youth and Active Citizenship Safety event at the Priory Park Centre, East Ham, on 1 August 2009. The event was organised by Newham Homes in partnership with Newceys (Newham Community Education and Youth Service) and the Boleyn Safer Neighbourhoods Team and designed to engage the community and encourage the involvement of local young people. The main aim was to bring Newham Homes' services out of the office to the doorstep of its residents and to promote safer, more secure communities.
