Launch of Staff Representative Group

This month has seen the launch of our Staff Representative Group, with eager representation from both office and site-based staff. The group will act as a channel of communication between staff and the Board, addressing any issues that may affect them. Members have responsibility for a budget allocated for fun staff events, management of the suggestions scheme and will be consulted on any other matters affecting the company's workforce. The group is already arranging its first staff event and making plans for a staff vote on a local and national charity that Lakehouse will support in 2008.

Fun Day at Galliard Primary School

Lakehouse organised a fun day at Galliard Primary School, in Edmonton, on Thursday 4th of October to celebrate the building of a new early years centre, planned to coincide with construction week. The school children were set a challenge to build a model Olympic Village from recycled materials and special guests, including Councillor Glynis Vince, joined in the fun and helped Bob the Builder pick the winners. The day also involved a health & safety talk, tours of the new centre, a recycling workshop and face painting for the younger children.

Lakehouse announces plans for office expansion

Lakehouse's newly formed Development Team is already knee deep in plans for an office expansion at its own headquarters. Proposals are being developed for a massive extension to provide enhanced, sustainable facilities for the company's fast growing workforce. Paula Carlton, Development Director says, "These are exciting times for Lakehouse and we're keen to ensure that we get buy in from staff early on. We've even made space in our rest area so that staff can look at the proposals and give us feedback on what they do and don't like." Work is expected to start during Summer next year.
