Lakehouse was recently announced winner of the prestigious Diversity in Business Award at the 2nd annual North and West London Business Awards, held at the world class Bobby Moore Suite at Wembley Stadium. The glittering event was hosted by BBC Journalist, Louisa Preston.
A record number of entries were received, making competition fierce, but judges were impressed with Lakehouse's ability to demonstrate its commitment to diversity through:
- A company strategy that reflects diversity from within the workforce and customer base
- Development of staff in a fair, reflective and non discriminatory manner
- Close ties with the local community to ensure recruitment of skilled resources from a variety of backgrounds
- Changes in the workplace which reflect the individual needs of a diverse workforce
Steve Rawlings, Lakehouse's founder and Chief Executive, stepped up to accept the award. Claire Williams, Lakehouse's Community Development Manager for Camden, said "My role focuses on community investment in a diverse community. I'm really proud to represent Lakehouse and over the moon that we have been recognised and rewarded for our passion for diversity."
