Lakehouse was one of a handful of successful entrants to win at the 2011 Building Awards, hosted at Grosvenor House Hotel, Park Lane, on 7 April. Lakehouse was awarded 'Diversity Champion of the Year', with judges stating that "Lakehouse is a company that is really showing the way forward for the construction sector." Managing Director Sean Birrane is proud of the company's recent award, saying "The Building Awards are fiercely competitive and we are thrilled to win this award. When it comes to diversity and the wider realm of corporate social responsibility, we consider ourselves to be leaders in the industry. It's very rewarding to receive recognition and respect from the industry itself as well as our peers, and a massive morale boost for our staff, without whose help and support we could not have achieved this."
Lakehouse was short listed for three awards this year - Contractor of the Year, which Lakehouse secured in 2010; Diversity Champion of the Year; and Project of the Year for BREEAM Excellent Lowther Children's Centre, in Barnes.
Lakehouse was highly commended for 'Contractor of the Year' this year, with judges saying "Last year's winner of this category impressed judges again with a fantastic array of project wins over the last 12 months. Lakehouse saw a 51% increase in turnover and a 37% rise in profit in 2010, resulting in a workforce increase of 22% - all major factors in the decision to highly commend the group in this year's awards."
